FlexVanpool is currently accessible only within select regions of Washington state. Users outside this area are advised against downloading or attempting to use the application at this time.

IMPORTANT - To utilize this application, users must have an account with a local ridesharing program operated by SmartRideshare. Residents of Washington state can register for or access existing accounts through RideShareOnline.com or its affiliated programs.

What Is It
<ul>
<li>FlexVanpool facilitates sharing available seats in vanpools among coworkers and commuters, permitting users to book rides as needed and join suitable vanpool groups. Occasional riders benefit from the flexibility to book individual trips and join vans on a case-by-case basis.</li>
<li>Current vanpool members can combine and synchronize rides with other groups on days when their schedules do not align with their usual vanpool. The service offers a streamlined, efficient commute directly to the workplace, enhanced by advanced features such as online booking, real-time location tracking, in-app messaging, notifications, and more.</li>

Flex Riders
<ul>
<li>This feature provides occasional riders with an alternative mobility option. They can search for matching vanpools, book single or multiple trips within a week depending on seat availability, thus adding flexibility to their commuting routine.</li>
</ul>

Monthly Riders (Vanpool Group Members)
<ul>
<li>The app automatically reserves a seat for monthly riders, ensuring their spot is guaranteed. These riders can also opt to ride with other vanpools on days when their scheduled times differ from their assigned group.</li>
</ul>

Drivers (Vanpool Group Members)
<ul>
<li>Drivers have access to all functionalities available to monthly riders. Additionally, they can review upcoming bookings, manage cancellations, and coordinate trips directly through the application.</li>
</ul>

What It Is Not
<ul>
<li>FlexVanpool does not support trips to destinations like airports or shopping malls. It is intended solely for commuting to work.</li>
<li>This service differs from ride-hailing platforms such as Uber or Lyft. Scheduled vanpools follow predetermined routes and stops; drivers do not arrive door-to-door for pick-ups. Riders are expected to board vans at designated stops along established routes, which may include walking to specific meeting points or brief waiting periods. Bookings require a minimum advance of one hour prior to departure.</li>

How It Works

<li>The application integrates with the SmartRideshare platform, requiring users to log in with their existing SmartRideshare accounts.</li>
<li>Every week, the system automatically assigns seats for monthly riders based on capacity and cancellations, making these seats available for booking by others.</li>
<li>Both flex and monthly riders can reserve rides on an as-needed basis throughout the week.</li>
<li>For drivers, participation involves no additional driving or waiting; they seamlessly serve their usual routes while offering pickup and drop-off services for riders.</li>
